World Tourism Organization forecasted that the number of worldwide touring people would be 1.55 billion in 2010. The annual average growing rate of touring people and touring consumption would be 4.35 percent and 6.7 percent. As one of the greatest tourism destination, tourism activity of Canada generated over $74 billion in revenues, represented 2% of Canada’s gross domestic product (GDP) and directly employed over 660,000 Canadians.
This inspiring news proves the ongoing saying that tourism industry is a sunrise industry, just like the word--tourism means relax, a chance to release high pressure and an opportunity to enjoy delicious food and marvelous natural beauty to people, tourism always arouse people’s passion. This industry promotes the economic development of the whole world.
Take the Tourism Week of Canada for example, tourism is a $71.5 billion industry that contributes significantly to the living standard and quality of life of all Canadians,
to highlight the economic impact and social benefits of Canada’s tourism sector among media, general public and governments at all levels, a number of public and private tourism stakeholders led by the Tourism Industry Association of Canada, and presented by Deloitte and Air Canada collectively organized the tourism week. Its date was determined from 7th to 13th in June. Since then, tourism week provided activities organized by provincial and territorial tourism industry associations, provincial and territorial marketing organizations, destination marketing organizations, individual business and other partners a focal point.
